So, we're waiting VERY IMPATIENTLY for Amanda's CI activation in three days, and a little silliness came over us. Here is Amanda wearing her Advanced Bionics Monkey's CI processor. The headpiece is attached with velcro to her hair.
Yes, we have snow, and it’s brrrr!

People keep asking if we have snow. Indeed, it’s winter in Michigan: we’ve
got snow, and it’s cold. As it should be! I’ve focused most writing time on
my b...

Very funny! The suspense is killing me... so I can only imagine how things are at your house! Good luck... can't wait for her Hearing Birthday!
I love the pictures -- too funny!
You know, it didn't dawn on me that we could stick things to the magnets now. For some reason I was thinking I had to wait til activation for silliness like that, but hey...the magnet is there *now*! :-)
I can't even believe it's only 3 days away. Time is just flying by!! I'm so excited for Amanda and I can't wait to read about her activation day.

Elizabeth, things are moving at a s n a i l ' s pace around here! Thanks for your support!
Wendi, I wish we'd have thought of it, but Edie, an Advanced Bionics audiologist (Support Center Education Specialist) is the one who sent us the miniature monkeys and clued us in that they could hang from her magnet. She has supported us AND educated us, so she certain has lived up to her title!
Jennifer I can't believe I am just now finding your blog, I did not know Amanda finally got her CI implanted!!! How AMAZING for her! I am so anxious for the 12th now, I cannot wait find out what happens! Will you be at ASL Monday?? BTW I have a blog too I am going to link to you!

Like Wendi, I didn't think I could do that. Hmm, gotta go find some paper clips or something and freak the kids out...lol
Three more days!! How exciting. It'll be here before you know it.
Jennifer, the pictures of Amanda with the money's CI and the mini monkey hanging from her magnet are really cute! I think the last three days are the worst. Hang in there and keep thinking of silly things to do to pass the time! I was actually glad to go to work that last week just to keep my mind occupied. I'm sure I drove everyone crazy counting down the days and then the hours.
Hi Olivia! The first and second months we came to the Fabulous ASL Learners of RC event, Amanda hadn't yet been approved. The third month was the day she had her surgery, July 14th. We do plan to attend Monday night, the day before her activation. So see you then.
Thanks for the blog link to your blog. And I also included your blog in my blog list. Hey, I noticed that you said that soon "Jennifer" may be able to hear for the first time. Sometimes my family feels that way, but as far as I know, I'm hearing. Smile.
Shari, so how did it go with the paper clips or other metal items attached to your head? Kids all freaked out yet?
:-D
Ha ha ha...the post that says that it has been deleted by the author was just me. I made a smiley face but the smile and the eyes and nose were on separate lines. Didn't realize it would look like that and I couldn't completely delete it. Oh well.
Janet,
Terrific that the last three days are the worst! Didn't know it could get any worse! In 2 hours and 13 minutes we will have officially only 2 days to wait!
You drove people crazy with counting down the days and hours?? I personally wouldn't know ANYTHING about that. Smirk. Make that 2 hours and 12 minutes.
